Why you should clean browsing history

As you surf the Internet, your browser stores information about the web sites you visited, information you entered on web sites, what you downloaded etc. Usually, browsing history is helpful to store this information as it can improve your web browsing speed, helps to automatically suggest information you have typed before, so you don't have to type it again, etc. But it can also seriously compromise your security and privacy, as anyone who has access to your computer can see what web sites you visited and what information you entered on web pages.

Internet Explorer stores information about web sites you visited, information you entered on web sites, etc. to improve your web browsing. But browsing history tracks can also seriously compromise your security and privacy, as anyone who has access to your computer can see what web sites you visited and what information you entered on web pages.

How to clean all browsing history in Internet Explorer

Press the Ctrl + Shift + Del combination or select 'Delete browsing history' from the Tools menu

Check the History option and click the Delete button.

To clean browsing history automatically, select Internet Options in the Tools menu check Delete browsing history on exit.

Select 'Tools' and then 'Delete Browsing History'.
Click 'Delete all', and then click 'Yes'.

To clean a specific category of browsing history click the 'Delete' button next to the information you want to delete, and then click 'Yes'.

Firefox Browsing history

You can clean Firefox browsing history manually or using clear history software.

Open the History menu and select 'Clear Recent History'

Open the 'Time range to clear' list and select the necessary item.

Select Browsing and Download history from the 'Details' menu and click 'Clear Now'

Open Firefox and select the 'Tools' menu

Then select 'Options' and open the 'Privacy' tab.

Under the Private area click 'Clear Now'.

In the 'Clear Private Data' window select the necessary items and click 'Clear Private Data Now'.

How to clean browsing history in Firefox 2.0

Select "Tools"
Select "Options".
Select "Privacy".
In the Private area click "Clear Now".
In the "Clear Private Data" window put the check mark for "Browsing history" and click "Clear Private Data Now".
Click OK.

Opera Browsing history

How to clean browsing history in Opera 9.x:
Open the Tools menu.
Select Delete private data
Click the "Details" button
Select "Clear history of visited links".
Click the "Delete" button.

How to clean browsing history in Opera 8.x
Go to "Edit" menu and select "Preferences".
Select "Navigator" under the "Category" listing.
Select "Clear History" in the "History" area.
Click "OK" to clear browser history.
